Rejected 9/11 cover

Can't believe Sunday Times rejected this cover design.
9/11 cover from last weeks Sunday Times Magazine: "The Fallen"

Artdirected and illustrated by Alyson Waller
(alyson.waller@Sunday-times.co.uk), she explains to me:
"The stripes on the flag resemble the design strips on the building and the square section is where the tower started to collapse. The little stars represent the people who were forced to jump. I like to think they are stars in the sky now watching down on us. Everyone loves to dream of a loved one who has died as a light in the sky."

See here The Sunday Times Magazine cover thats finally printed instead (also a nice one but oh boy, the one above...)

(9/11 Twin Towers)
